Reading “What‘s Coming to Me” right now. Based on what I‘ve read so far, Minerva is by far the most realistic character I‘ve ever encountered. Also this is the first YA story that featured mild drug use (the main character smokes weed with her friend CeCe), which is something I‘ve rarely seen in YA novels. I‘m at the beginning, but I‘m enjoying it so far.

Steampunknoire1930 Listen. This book read like a book adaptation of a television series. I hope someone talked to her about “”What‘s Coming to Me” possibly being on Netflix. (edited) 2y

Oh this was such a tough read. On the surface it's about a teen who works in an ice cream shop where the boss has planted cameras in all the places you might have to lean or bend and decides to team up with a friend to see if they can rob the place of the stash of money everyone says is hidden somewhere. But it's also about grief, how grief can look like anger, and trying to believe in things when everything seems hopeless.
