This definitely could have been condensed a bit and maybe a disclaimer that it isn‘t 100% accurate historical fiction. But I really enjoyed this book, one I‘ve the richest people in new York in the 1800s being a Black woman who made her money from prostitution and being a landlord. Had no idea she existed. The murder trial was an interesting twist too, her life was pretty wild.

WOW!!! what a story, always amazing the stories we never know, based on a true story. It was a audiobook for me and narration is key and this was excellent, chapter 25 should have been condensed but it was a very good read. Pick it up before it becomes a movie or ends up on Netflix.

Watched a fascinating interview with Author Barbara Chase- Riboud, sponsored by the Free Library of Philadelphia about her new book,The Great Mrs. Elias, based on a true story. I was infatuated not only by the book, but also the author! She was at her home in Paris. In addition to her writing achievements, she also has her sculptures in Museums worldwide. She was interviewed by author, NellI Ervin Painter.
