If you have ever felt any curiosity for what happened to the Russian aristocracy after the ruling family was murdered and the Bolsheviks took over, this is the book you were looking for.

Starting with the elite of Russia enjoying Paris, but then transitions into the hardships faced by those same elite working as taxi drivers & waitstaff. Well researched, a little dense. But you understand the grief of those who left their homes. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

If you're a fan of Russian history than you've probably read one or more of Helen Rappaport's histories. This one, her newest, is all about the Russian emigrees who fled the Revolution and landed in Paris. It's so comprehensive that it can be hard to read, but I read it a chapter or so at a sitting and found it actually quite informative and evocative of that lost place and time.
