With no Litsy posts, and only 38 ratings on GR, I have NO idea how this book hit my radar. So glad it did.
This is the fictionalized account of the Bloody Benders, a family in Kansas who killed travelers that stopped at their cabin in the 1870s. It was my favorite type of historical fiction—based on true events/people and well written. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewsbylola I mean, they knew an opportunity when they saw one! From what I can tell, the author definitely took some major liberties but he also made sure to stay true to the essence of their story. I sure wouldn‘t want to stop at their “grocery.” 😂😣 @emilyhaldi @LeahBergen 4y
