panThe concept was interesting and it starts out strong but the writing style and sentence repetition was so irritating. The level of description at times was unbearable and completely pointless. The book could have been condensed down from 800 to about 200 pages without losing anything. It also contains an unsettling eroticism about it which is carried throughout the book, which feels again like it adds little to nothing to the story.
From out of the 5 books I've read so far this year, the longest one has been 480 pages, the shortest is 305. I know it's only the early days of this year but it's time to amp it up a bit with a big chunky book. This one technically is two books though I'm classifying it as one. It comes in at 805 pages. I'd better get cracking on with it.
