The Apostle John was in the Spirit when the new revelations came. A peculiar light entered his cell. With the light came a deep peace. Waves of love and life flowed over him as he heard a voice saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last" (Revelation 1:11). John recognizes the voice of his Good Shepherd. He sees seven bright golden candle¬sticks and Jesus standing in the midst in a bright splendor of love, light, and life. John remembers the day he saw Jesus trans¬figured on the mountain. This vision is similar.
This book reads like a poorly written research paper. The majority of the book is made up of huge block quotes and conjecture. It sadly falls short of informing the reader about the life of Polycarp.
