pickSisterhood & the ties that bind is at the center of this story. When Luna‘s sister is dunked in the river & gets sick with the wasting illness from which no one recovers, Luna will do anything to save her. Separated and unable to reach her sister Gia, Perdita has gotten angrier & angrier & angrier with terrible consequences for everyone. A good MG read for kids interested in friendship, family & a hint of magic. I enjoyed it & will recommend.
It‘s one of those days when both jobs collide—archaeologist me has to approve drawings for the volume I am editing and librarian me has to make sure everyone has a good book to read over Spring Break—but I have a few minutes to start the morning the right way. So it‘s coffee, a treat, and a chapter or two.
This is another book that caught my eye as I was straightening the shelves in the library today. Another gorgeous cover and a MG story with an intriguing premise. Here‘s hoping I go two for two with my random bookshelf finds today.
pickSweet story with a strong heroine. Great for chapter book reading with kids; kids are central to the story as are sister relationships.
