Here, Jaq's hot new romance with Hannah doesn't eclipse her relationships with her longtime BFF, her dad, her colleagues, and her students. Ripper shows us the full depth of Jaq's life. Hell yeah tacos!

I made some mighty tasty dessert tacos last summer. They were filled with avocado ice cream topped with frozen chocolate ganache, walnuts, and shredded coconut. Yum.

I'm ready to do some serious outdoor reading tonight. I've also got comics on my phone and the hygge book on my Kobo, but neither of those photographs well in this kind of light.

Ugh, yes. I try not to, but I also feel kinda awkward around people who mostly read nonfiction. A couple years back, a friend got a bit judgey about how I don't read too much of it, and apparently that conversation scarred me even though I read at least as much nonfiction as her--it just accounts for a smaller percentage of my yearly reading because I also read more novels.

I read a couple more chapters of THE BUTCH AND THE BEAUTIFUL over breakfast and now I'm grumpy because I can't spend all day with it. The Queers of La Vista series is great (and you can totally read it out of order, like I'm doing, but I do recommend you tackle the third and fourth books back to back). #queerbooks

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It was hard to loke one of the main characters because of what was being said about her and Jaq's own point of view. #lesbianromance

#augustofbooks I don't read a lot of romance so when I embarked on a romance reading adventure this past spring I tried to find as many non-heteronormative titles as possible. I stumbled across this series called Queers of La Vista. Other titles include "Gays of our Lives" and "As La Vista Turns."
