Autumnscribe @TimSpalding agreed!!! I cannot believe I have only recently discovered his work. I would have loved these even more when I was a kid than I do now. 6y

TimSpalding @Autumnscribe My son enjoyed them when I played them for him, a few years ago. He might have been too young, though. Another Victorian fairy story I like is Ruskin's King of the Golden River.

Autumnscribe @TimSpalding I will have to check that out. I collect fairy tales from all over the world. (And as far as I can tell Victorian stories almost constitute a different planet). Thanks for the recommendation. 6y
