While some of the specifics might be out of date now (this book was originally published in 2009), it nevertheless remains an interesting look at how criminal organizations permeate nearly every facet of our everyday lives, controlling significant portions of the supply chains that deliver the goods and services we all use. Bonus points for opening with the story of Ilya Pavlov, a Bulgarian kingpin who was killed not long before I moved there.
