Good mystery, but a little too long.
Good mystery, but a little too long.
An Indian Maharajah visits the Yorkshire estate of the Duke of Devonshire to go hunting. His horse comes back without him in the evening and the next day one of the grooms who had accompanied him in the morning is found drowned in the river. Kate Shackleton investigates on behalf of the Government.
A good twisty tale. The author makes even minor characters come alive so that the reader wonders what happened to them after the events in the novel.
Another murder mystery for Kate Shackleton to discover. This takes place in the English countryside, with at first Kate must find a missing Indian prince. Then it get rather complicated as these things do! I enjoyed it. #crimebooks
I very much enjoyed this book. The setting was in Northern Scotland and in a way reminded me of The Great Alone. In that the family (Dad and daughter) live near the forest in a small community.
It dealt with Lauren living with her dad, her mother disappeared about 10 years ago. There are many questions about it. Then a young women goes missing too. It also has a bit of a ghostly feel. These really ties in with the atmosphere. #bookcover
