Mehso-so

It‘s good as a syfy thriller. I‘m a huge impractical jokers fan, and this second book from Murr is good, but i found it hard to get really “into” it (same as the first)

I‘m a big fan of #creaturefeatures so I have been looking forward to this sequel since I read the first book! But this one is a bit less creature focused and more global politics and acts of war. The central characters are a bit clearer now, but they are not as developed as I‘d hoped. The opening scene set a high bar, but it never really blends the comedy and horror beyond that scene. I‘m hoping the last one in the trilogy is a bit stronger!

Pickpick

I loved the first book,Awakened, and was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, this book was not as thrilling as the first. Awakened was a tight monster book about people trapped underground facing an unknown foe. In the Brink we get an international thriller where politics play a big role and the creatures are secondary performers at best. Still I will read anything Murray writes. Recommend to read book 1 first.
