Hedy Lamarr was beautiful, brilliant, and boxed in by those very qualities. This graphic novel gives an overview of her life, much of which she spent feeling trapped or misrepresented. I want to read a more in-depth look at some point, but this was a good introduction. Definitely not a kid-friendly bio (unless you want to explain “the first on-screen orgasm” 😆).

I'm so glad that people are finally recognizing Hedy Lamarr's contributions to IT. This graphic novel memoir did a great job of hitting the high points of her life though much was glossed over (it's only 176 pages after all). But it still conveyed a sense she was trapped - literally in her first marriage and then figuratively by society's expectations of her. And then later on, by her own making due to vanity. The entire book felt very sad.

Crazeedi I know she died penniless. Her patents expired without her renewing an the military jumped on them, it's a rotten shame have you read 6y
