Why I keep trying to read Fitzgerald, I will never understand. It‘s that idea that he‘s this classic author and I love classical fiction so I should be able to appreciate his work. It‘s not for me; I can‘t get passed his depiction of women. The only thing I can say is he knows how to paint a setting, I feel like I‘m actually there. Not a great start to #bookspin, so hopefully the next one is better 🤣

TheAromaofBooks Fitzgerald doesn't work for me, either. I know so many people love Gatsby, but I genuinely hate that book haha 3y

—Love is fragile—she was thinking—but perhaps the pieces are saved, the things that hovered on lips, that might have been said. The new love words, the tendernesses learned, are treasured up for the next lover. --from "Mayday"
