This book lives up to the hype of its inevitable comparison with "The Boys in the Boat." You think it's going to be a dry recitation of a football game played by elite Ivy League students--but it's not. The narrative propels you toward The Game while putting it in the context of what was happening in the country and the world in 1968. And --Tommy Lee Jones was on the Harvard team! Bonus! Two thumbs way up. ????

Full of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy and about to sit down by the fire to start this book. One review I read said "if you loved 'The Boys in the Boat' you'll love this one!" I hope that's true and not just marketing hyperbole. Because I sure did love "The Boys in the Boat," and I'll be disappointed if this doesn't compare.

DivineDiana Well, The Boys in the Boat is a favorite! Stacking! (edited) 6y

My parents were at this game, and I‘ve heard about it all my life. Looking forward to this book!
