Another book I‘ve read but not reviewed. I love the Cotton Malone books and this was no exception. I particularly love how historical events are wrapped up around a modern story. In this one we hear about invasion plans for what was intended to be America‘s 14th Colony - Canada! Apparently no less than 3 separate invasion plans were drawn up! Find out how this links to modern day events with another fast moving thriller with Cotton and friends! 😍
I usually like Berry‘s books but this one has a problem. Berry predicts major chaos if the President and Vice President elect die before taking the oath of office on January 20th. He claims a flaw in the constitution and presidential succession act would cause nobody available to become president. The Speaker of the House would be in place during Congress‘ 1st meeting 1st week of January and he is next in line of succession. We are led astray!
This is the schedule for the Group Read of The14th Colony, the 11th book in the Cotton Malone Series by Steve Berry. This group read takes place on Librarything but posting the schedule in case anyone wants to read along.
About to start The 14th Colony, book 11 in the Cotton Malone Series. Another series I am a long way through. I‘m reading this as part of a Group Read on Librarything. I‘ll post the schedule later on in case anyone wants to read along.
Look at this stack I got from Goodwill
I haven't been posting much lately or reading due to massive amounts of work but I managed to get in a Steve Berry book this week! Another in the Cotton Malone series, it was good but too predictable - National Treasure meets Bourne. Motivations for the antagonist were thin and loose and there was some convoluted D.C. dancing. Not super impressed
First up for #24in48 is to finish this book. A little over 100 pages left.
I've loved Steve Berry books for over 20 years, and this one does not disappoint
I listened to 14th Colony on Audible. I loved it. Steve's books are meticulous history lessons with an entertaining fiction that makes it all seem real. #SteveBerry #CottonMalone
Latest in the Cotton Malone series. Overall, the later novels, which focus on US History, rather than World History have less oomph than the earliest in this series.
