Day and a Night and a Day | 
pickThe first book I‘ve read by this author, it was a bit more staid than I typically choose for fiction. Nevertheless I was thoroughly captivated. Although it deals unflinchingly with death, torture, terrorism, race, religion & first love, it is in the end a story of hope and the resilience of the human spirit. I rate it a full 5 stars, but with a warning that it is not for those triggered by violence.👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
ReadZenRites The protagonist, following the violent death of his true love, joins a terrorist cell, is apprehended and brutally tortured. I couldn‘t help but empathize with him, even though he was in the role of traditional bad guy. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I read his 2011 book, The Last Werewolf. It was the most literary werewolf book I‘ve ever read, and I gave it four stars. Thanks for reminding me about him. p.s. Then I saw his GR author profile image. Swoon. 7y
