I like how inclusive this book is. It is mostly starting conversations because there is a section about moms who strip to support their children, but it is much more subtle than I thought it would be. My 6-year old didn‘t really grasp what it meant, and just saw shoes. The art is kind of cool, but more cool for adults than for children, I think. It feels like it was selected to appeal to feminist moms, rather than to their kids. Worth a read.

Browsing the new library books for something to read my grandson. While this picture may be true, and mothers do a variety of jobs to provide for their babies, I don‘t feel like introducing this profession to a 4-year-old. 😶

I‘m not sure how this book came on my radar but my copy came in this week from the library. It is a very inclusive picture book using picture collage to show the many ways moms work in and out of the home to provide for and love their children but I was unprepared for this page. That said, it‘s going in my 4yo‘s bedtime book pile. I did make my hubby read it first so he wasn‘t taken by surprise.
