I always think of racy romance when I hear 'Danielle Steel' - yet this is definitely a historical fiction through and through. There is a lot packed in this little chunky paperback. It was beautifully written...a tale of love, loss, life, and sacrifices. I had no idea how awful Japanese Americans were treated in the time of WWII. It was not a good time to be Japanese in the United States following the bombing at Pearl Harbor. #doublebookspin
