I could use this book with children to encourage them to critically think. In the story, the little girls has a broad understanding of what her mother likes. She knows she likes the colors red, yellow, green and blue. The rabbit helps her think critically about what presents she should get her mother.
This is an award winning book about a little girl who meets a rabbit. The rabbit helps her find her mother a birthday present. The girl and rabbit search long and hard for the perfect gift. At the end of the story, they figure out what present to give the mother.
“I would like to give her something that she likes,” she said the little girl. I like this quote because the girl is trying to think of a very thoughtful gift for her mom
I think this book would be great for a younger group. Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd grade. The book would be very easy for children to understand. The illustrations were colorful and would keep children interested. A perfect book for young kids.

The story made the rabbit feel like a real person which was great for the story.
I love finding and reading old children's books. This one was okay. The illustrations were nice but the repetition throughout the story because stale after a few pages. I did like the ending with the fruits and the basket. I guess children could learn the colors from this book and the items associated with the colors.
