pickThe Empire's Ghost didn't really start the party until it was absolutely sure it had me in its grasp, until it knew without a shadow of a doubt that I loved and would DIE FOR these characters. Then it threw them into a multitude of different plotlines that somehow all converged near the end and made way for the second book because Isabelle Steiger is a genius??? Oh my god????

(Sent husband to pick up holds for me - Gathering Blue and Son - and he brought home a bonus book that caught his eye!) Anyone know anything about The Empire's Ghost? It looks fascinating. That feeling when you are 25 pages from the end of a book and you realize there is no way it is going to end on anything but a cliffhanger. And the book's not even published yet, so who even knows when the next in the series will come out. Grumble grumble grumble. (It's really good, though, so there's that.)
