Sent to London to train in forensics, Digger becomes enmeshed in Chilman's obsession with a cold case - the disappearance of a young man whose mother is sure has been murdered.

Camaho is the fictional carribean island at the centre of this novel. The creation of a new police dept by an older detective sees 2 yng men literally plucked from the streets to join the force. Investigating a historic disappearance causes rivalries amidst religious zealots, corruption and murder.
I discovered this book via the #jhalakprize and it was a very gd rd which combined a well plotted story w/o shying away from difficult social issues.

Melissa_J Hmm. My husband might like this one. 7y
