I have mixed feelings about this book. The story of Dan-el's experiences is incredible and sheds light on the need for immigration reform in America. And I love his odes to the power of reading. But, his experiences are not typical, and he doesn't acknowledge that. I wanted to root for him, but found it hard to do so. His tone comes across as arrogant. In the end, there just wasn't enough reflection. I wanted more insight.
