Stirring up trouble… Vintage kitchenware and cookbook collector Jaymie Leighton has been estranged from her high school best friend Kathy Cooper since they were teenagers, but she never knew what turned Kathy against her. After fireworks at a Fourth of July picnic, Jaymie discovers the body of her former friend in the park. On the ground nearby is Jaymie’s own Depression-era glass bowl, broken in two. With her fingerprints all over the bowl and a troubled history with the victim, Jaymie suddenly finds herself at the top of the list of suspects. Did the killer intend to frame her for the murder? If so, she is ready to mix it up, because solving crimes is vintage Jaymie Leighton…

Mehso-so

Why is the protagonist so obsessed with reconciling with her childhood BFF after 16 years of not talking? It makes no sense. Let it go!

I think I‘m done with this series. The first book was okay; this one, not so much. For the first half of the book, Jaymie, the protagonist, was so determined to find out why her former best friend was mad at her. It bordered on the ridiculous, in my opinion. The second half did get slightly better, as she wasn‘t as whiny. Sorry - I‘ve read cozies I enjoy much more.

ferskner Oh no! I do love a ridiculous cozy, but this might be a step too far for me too. 5y
Librarybelle @ferskner I know! Cozies and their ridiculousness are why I enjoy them so much. But, this one was just off the mark for me. 5y

This is the 2nd book in the vintage Kitchen cozy mystery series...as for the story it was a pretty decent read. Definitely plan to read the next book soon
