Poetry is probably my least read genre, and maybe if I had read some books like this when I was younger I would have explored it more. Fun, fantastical, and a quick read!

Sweet and clever! I can understand why it won the Newbery and Caldecott. I especially liked "Blake Tells the Tiger the Tale of the Tailor."

4/5🌟
I had to read this book twice to get full enjoyment from it, but it‘s a lovely book of whimsical poetry written in tribute to William Blake. I was intrigued enough by this book to pick up and read my copy of Selected Poems by William Blake.

#NewberyEpicChallenge books for February!
A Visit to William Blake‘s Inn by Nancy Willard
The Story of Mankind by Hendrik Van Loon
Enjoy!
A Visit to William Blake‘s Inn, written by Nancy Willard, is a PF compilation of simple poems written by a real historical figure, William Blake. Nancy takes these poems and adds them to a little girl‘s world because she is bedridden with the measles. These poems are great for students who benefit from rhyming and repetition. #ucflae3414fl19
