I love this book so much. The author does an excellent job explaining the science in an accessible way. He uses DNA and fossil evidence to show how bodies have adapted and changed parts as life has grown from fish to amphibians, mammals, and eventually humans. He writes in an infectious style, much like Carl Sagan. This book is always a delight to read.
Time to reread my favorite book about transitional fossils! Dr. Shubin will be coming out with a new book soon and I‘m giddy about it.
Also, Biscuit says hello from the background. She has a new chew and can‘t be bothered to look pretty in a photograph.

Woke up and finished this book for an extra-credit assignment in my biology class. As an English major, I am not well-versed in evolution, but this was a fascinating read nonetheless. It's straight-forward, engaging, and very educational. I would recommend it for anyone at all interested in evolution #collegelife #evolution #science
Want to know the similarities between yourself and every other creature, including sharks? This examination of evolution through the lens of genetic conservation is well-written, understandable for the layperson, and often funny. First-rate! 👍
