I didn‘t love it though. Oh well. I might try the third one because I‘ve heard that‘s better, but this one was way too long and didn‘t have the storytelling magic the first one had.

pickPearl S. Buck again. It was a really really good story about a woman who try to balance between old Chinese tradition and the West world.

pickThis was again an amazing Pearl S. Buck novel. It is so sad the people barely know her.
This time based on true historic events. However Cixi is not a likebale character at all she is very clever and strong. I loved it.

I bought every Pearl S. Buck book in the second hand bookshop I could. I am so happy with them! Last year this writer became one of favourites and my goal is to read every book which was publushed on my language 🥰🥰🥰🥰

pickI cannot be disoppointed when I am reading a Pearl S. Buck novel. This story happenning in Communist China (and the USA) in a disintegrating Chines family. I felt all of their problems and doubts in the system however I don't think it was deep enough.
