How to Do Nothing | Jenny Odell

To stand apart means giving yourself the critical break that media cycles and narratives will not, allowing yourself to believe in another world while living in this one. It is a perfect image of this world when justice has been realized with and for everyone and everything that is here. To stand apart is to look at the world (now) as it could be (the future), with all of the hope and contemplation that this entails. #SundayFunday #BookmarkTavern

Heck yes, I do! Some of my favorites:
•rereading Nancy Drew with the #NancyDrewBR group
•rereading the Sherlock Holmes canon with #NoPlaceLikeHolmes
•every summer I reread the complete collection of PEANUTS comics from 1958-2000 ... every comic Schulz ever wrote.
•my Pam and Penny twin reads from the 1950s by Rosamon du Jardin
•THE FLAME AND THE FLOWER by Kathryn Woodiwiss
•the sexy parts from the OUTLANDER books 🤫

FashionableObserver Not sure where you are, but the Minnesota History Center has a great exhibit about the life and art of native son, Charles Schulz. It goes through June 9th! https://www.mnhs.org/historycenter/activities/museum/schulz 6mo
dabbe @FashionableObserver I wish I was closer! I live in the hell that is Phoenix, AZ at this time of year. Thanks for the link, though! I'll explore it! 🤩😀🤗 6mo
FashionableObserver Oh, Phoenix! My family and I were just saying how much we miss it. We usually spend about ten days there at the beginning of May. We stay at the Biltmore every time…now our son has so many activities that we can‘t do our annual trip anymore! 😕 6mo

FashionableObserver If you want an exhibition catalog and can‘t get one online, let me know. I can grab one for you when I go! 6mo
willaful When I first started reading sexy romance -- in my forties! -- I read some bits over and over and... when I had a middle of the night hospital trip and nothing to read, I retold sections of The Shadow and the Star to myself so I wouldn't go mad. 6mo
dabbe @FashionableObserver Good thing you don't come in July or August! 😂 6mo

dabbe @FashionableObserver My grandma always said that the weather here wouldn't start to get cooler until the first full moon in October. She was right. 🤩😂😀 6mo

Yes, I would recommend. It was a short, fun read.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'm already halfway through this one. It's cute and I will likely read the full series 10mo

This was a big hit of dopamine. It's completely unrealistic and everyone is lovely and it works as a Christmas snowed in romance.

One point I didn't like - don't give cats milk!

A sweet gay awakening slow burn romance between two hockey players.

This is very hockey focused and got a bit technical at times. I enjoyed it. It added another dimension to the romance.

Homophobia in the NHL is mentioned but it never goes into much depth and nothing comes from it. It focuses on the sweet side of things and sidesteps the reality of being a gay sportsman.
